The Office
For City Hall in Eindhoven I made a work called The Office. All wrapped up objects are utensils of a city clerk’s desk, found in the city hall itself. Shape and form remain but the identity has changed. Many clerks came by and saw the work, I wondered how many of them realised it could have been their own working space undone from the grey tone, and sabotaged in a soft way. I added embroidered details on places that are often touched by the desk user, details that describe an certain routine. The office was shown during Dutch Design Week in 2010.
